All cancers begin in cells, the body's basic unit of life. To understand cancer, it's helpful to know what happens when normal cells become cancer cells.
The body is made up of many types of cells. These cells grow and divide in a controlled way to produce more cells as they are needed to keep the body healthy. When cells become old or damaged, they die and are replaced with new cells.
However, sometimes this orderly process goes wrong. The genetic material DNA of a cell can become damaged or changed, producing mutations that affect normal cell growth and division. When this happens, cells do not die when they should and new cells form when the body does not need them. The extra cells may form a mass of tissue called a tumor that display uncontrolled growth division beyond the normal limits, invasion, intrusion on and destruction of adjacent tissues and sometimes metastasis, it spread through the bloodstream and lymphatic system to other parts of the body. cancer cells use blood sugar to make energy.
A free radical is any atom or molecule that has a single unpaired electron in an outer shell. free radicals are highly reactive. For most biological structures, free radical damage is closely associated with oxidative damage, they are very unstable and react quickly with other compounds, trying to capture the needed electron to gain stability. Generally, free radicals attack the nearest healthy cell, "stealing" its electron. When the attack the cell it loses its electron, it becomes a free radical itself, beginning a chain reaction. Once the process is started, it can cascade, finally resulting in the disruption of a living cell, causing damage to DNA, leading to the possible development of cancer. Antioxidants are substances that prevent damage to cells caused by free radicals.
7.6 million people died from cancer in the world during 2007
To prevent cancer indefinitely, you need to supply your cells with adequate amount of oxygen which found in abundance in plant base living food.
